From the general market, those with little to no experience in the sector, i agree, they would have no idea. They won't even know the difference between a rock chip and a diamond core. They read no further from the headline and only look at the G per T.

Those with more experience and some pro money, may see the value add with drills at other targets confirming resource extension targets and trigger some buying.

There is genuine, strong and increasing demand taking delivery of physical gold which is keeping the POG fairly strong.

From a short term investment perspective, market sentiment within the gold sector is still fairly low. Money from managed funds have been flowing out of the sector over the past few months. Probably adjusting their portfolios to more risk-on investments.

Based on all the macro economic factors out there, all indicators point to a sustained interest/demand and subsequent higher prices and at some point when the managed funds have renewed interest in the sector, most should well. With the explorers with the better prospects doing better. Managed funds don't just pour money into all companies equally, they obtain gold analyst advice/reports, opinions on valuation, upside potential etc before forming their business case to invest. Why do you think DEG have so much analyst coverage and earlier this year had many international funds pumping money into the company.

We are not all equal. Hence, why, it's important that one needs to invest in companies/prospects with really good fundamentals, particularly, those that are undervalued. Because, these are the companies that always end up doing better than the rest. The ones that see the 10x re-rates. Not to mention, that it's also these companies that are most likely to attract M&A interest or TO Bids.

One needs to monitor what is happening in the futures market to gauge when interest is returning to the sector. IT ALL STARTS HERE. I'd be watching for when the Hedge Funds increase their long positions as this always correlates with money flowing back into mining stocks. At the moment it's mostly bullion banks manipulating the prices with naked shorts and Private Corporations, trusts, high net worths etc that are taking physical deliveries.

I think one would be insane to day trade or short term trade in the sector at the moment. Bloody good buying opportunity now for those with strong enough conviction to park money into the sector and expect not much to happen over the next 3-6 months. Not until Biden Takes Office. Not until more stimulus is unleashed + the USD index well below 85 + low treasury yields. Also, expecting a rebound in gold jewelry demand from China & India in Mid 2021 which has taken a beating due to Covid19 restrictions.

For now, just kick back, enjoy and watch the development unfold!! Currently, the 2nd best discovery of 2020.
