To a novice like myself, Sandy Mitchell sands seem rather similar to those of VHM in north-west Victoria. VHM also have easy excavation and separation with back filling of the depleted material. They also have significant proportion of heavy minerals (zirconia and titania). Of course, VHM has proven large quantities and will be railing their concentrated ore across to their new processing plant in South Australia.
I like the fact that AHK should be able to get into production fairly quickly using Currumbin Minerals' facilities. A small low cost operation with a low MC can be a good money spinner once the REE market sorts itself out.
The company is avoiding giving any timeframe targets at this stage but I suppose 3-4 years to production is ball-park optimistic once all the economic studies are finalised, permits approved, and funding in place with off-take agreements.
