A bit disappointing to see the solar electricity which is so close to the 1000tpa - 10,000tpa+ plant is not feasible.
Looks like LMG have given up on the idea of renewables for the Latrobe plant. At least for the foreseeable future.

"LMG is seeking local sources of renewable energy for its on-going operations which would further
reduce its CO2 footprint. It had initial discussions with the Morwell Solar farm but found that their costs
were too high." (Renewable does not equal affordable)

The efforts for renewable energy for now are now focused on the 100,000tpa plant(s)

"LMG is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and will continue to assess other renewable or green
sources of energy to further reduce its CO2 emissions"

"LMG is seeking to reduce this further by using renewable energy in its larger plants."
....

LMG seem to always fail to mention the difference between fly ash and ferro nickel slag as feedstock.
The by-products from each feed stock are drastically different. In fact, I have not seen a single mention of by-products from ferro nickel slag processing apart from some low value aggregate.

"LMG produces not just magnesium but other valuable saleable products from its feedstock"

(Please distinguish between the two)

Good to see the public consultation and the explanation of the route for the transportation of the fly ash.
