I spoke with a Trevor from EMS, he is not very happy with the WA paper. He told me that they have
tried to make them substantiate their rumours, but there is no way they can make them do that. He stood
by the previous announcement that they know nothing about it.

When I asked him about the price of syringes, he said their is no price, he went further to add that they are
not even in the market for supplying syringes at this stage. They do have the reverse syringe patent but it
is not in production.

They are currently still awaiting the CE marketing approval for Europe, stuck in paperwork channels.

He stressed the point, that EMS is looking at being a needle supplier through Portlands, not syringe.
I asked him about UNI, and he did say they would have manufacture their own needles( which they
have never mentioned) or to source their needles from somewhere but thats all I could get out of him.

He also stated that they do not require any further approvals for Portlands to go into full production
with the new technology, Portlands has been in business for over 50 years and has all required
certification etc.

I also asked him about Portlands being the only needle manufacturer in Australia, he said they
are to his knowledge but there may be some smaller outfits around but they do not concern EMS
as a competitor at all. I verfied the new techinique (PAP i think it is) and he stated that it is 4 times
as fast at 50% of thecost. He told me that most of the big suppliers or products world wide have their
own needle manufacturing plants at present and here I got the impression EMS would like to supply them
cheaper than what they can make their own.
