To be fair, it's not just a sing by yourself app (heck I can do that on my 3DS using Joysound's massive library). I anticipate part of the use to be for practise or to sing with friends as that was a feature that would be in the app soon.

I believe the real reason that we (Australia) got the launch first is that they want a more polished version when radical entertainment start pushing the marketing engine. It's a smart ploy to basically use us shareholders as the beta testers to find these silly mistakes.
