I beg to differ. Hotcopper investors (some of them) are able to simplify jargon so that people get a good grasping of the basics. They can then build on that knowledge and seek further advice from their advisors etc
This is a case in point. Reading the newspaper articles in a rush i was not able to grasp the simple fact that this new trust is going to mirror the unlisted fund. Then there were bonus units. Now I am able to build on that knowledge and research this a bit more. Between now and the prospectus there is a lot of time.
I have learnt a lot about companies on hotcopper. Yes there are people here who try and spruik their own investments etc but you can see that from a mile. Simply asking questions and receiving answers to verify is not that.
