Property prices have gone up about 100 fold in Melbourne eastern suburbs over last 45 years. With high gearing it would have been 9990% gain over that period depending on how you would like to express the gains. Have shares gone up by that much? Have super investments gone up that much to keep up with even CPI inflation?
