Definitely worth thinking about. Overly optimistic and joining excessive dots are often unneccesary. Sometimes a bit of logic has to be applied.
I just don't know how they put together the estimated patient and treatment cost.
From patient point of view, the affordability and reachability are pretty much off the chart:
- First you need GP referral, several layer of red tapes/approval before you can be admistered the drug - Medicare safety net and gap - If you have private health, how much will it covered?
I think we will wait and see on how all these pan out. I just don't have the confident that there will be too many people fork out $5000 for treatment possibly not including consultation fee, let alone people with addiction, they will probably go the grey area way to obtain cough syrup, weed or etc which is much cheaper.
