We should not overlook the possibility that the non payment of the $80m is a negotiating tactic by MCC. It may well be a reflection of other issues swirling around in the background.
We have a number of projects we are preparing for sale,and in all probability to Chinese buyers. We know there is considerable Chinese interest in these, and MCC may well be involved.
It is possible CFE and MCC (or related parties) have engaged in meaningful discussions on one or more of our African projects, and the Chinese may well have decided that at this point in time it is in their best interests to play hardball.
