Then 8M should have advised they cannot fulfil the scope without certifications. They didn't. They knew the certifications were pending and started to take money regardless. That tells me there was a promise to get traction with or without certifications. Literally nothing has been done on 8M's side. Not even a constructed website. In any case, certifications definitely help, but they are not essential to selling a product to the general consumers. That's what marketing is for, to spin the sales pitch to the advantage of a product. There were lots of accolades for the product globally without the certification. Just about all cosmetic products have no credible certifications to back their claims, but the top ones are marketed well. There is room for positioning an all natural sanitiser in a market saturated with alcohol based products. I guarantee you a product with Kim Kardashian's approval, or any celebrity for that matter, would sell more than a product with a government agency approval to the general consumer. That changes for government and business consumers, but no inroads were made with either consumer by 8M from the results. I can't find a single influencer promoting HCT products, and that part of the deal did not need certification to make some sales.
HCT admitted in their announcement that the poor results from 8M were in part due to delays in N listing of the product, but 8M failed to deliver in other areas on their part too that did not hinge upon N listing.
In 8M's defence, It could have been worded better in the announcement, no doubt about that. But hurt feelings don't amount to defamation, and even less so in the business world. This whole f**k fest is a clash of egos.
