Ann: Letter of intent with Sonic Healthcare USA extended, page-4

Can't complain when a company releases an ann that answers my questions.

(And thanks to those who posted the Sonic Reference Lab website links, that was useful information).

One interesting thing that a lot of companies don't seem to notice- so I'm definitely not singling PIQ out for this one.

Buried away in a pdf document are lots of comment fields that you can usually edit somewhere. This can be important as, for example, some programs already put an author name (usually your PC user name) without asking. I learned this because I once had to do an anonymous review and was paranoid and went through everything in the PDF document to make sure I had gotten rid of personal info.

This document comes up in my browser with the tag (edited to remove a few bits) "Draft ASX release Plan A... HSF comments...".

So good to know we're still on Plan A.

Way back in an ann from June 21 2021, PIQ revealed their (implicit) aspirations for ProD in the US: annually testing 31m people at US$150 a pop. That's the dream.

It's a fair way to go yet, and the obvious questions are:

How much of that 31m will they actually get? Insurers may be parsimonious and choose not to pay to test everyone,

What will the test cost/ reimbursement be? I will have to make sure I understand how the system works now, but I remember the case of a company that made (if memory recalls) a special blood pressure machine and they got a reimbursement code, but for much less money than they'd hoped for.

What will the SHL/PIQ split be?

Well, at least the company has told us where things are at the moment, which I appreciate. Even if the message is "we're still working on it" it's better to know that rather than have the company not say anything.
