If your competition does not know who your buyer is, they cannot approach your buyer and undercut you in price (for a similar product).
For example, if you and your neighbour were selling similar ford sedans and you found a buyer, would you give the contact details of your buyer to your neighbour?
Of course you wouldn't, as your neighbour could undercut you and you would miss out on a sale.
You would be hard pressed to find any salesperson who would disclose their buyers prior to a contract becoming unconditional.
