However, if we change the example to selling 1000 shares only, then what I'm saying is the investor has the choice to decide which one to pair up with to create the CGT event. Eg. do you pair with the 1000 share you bought 16months ago or do you pair with the parcel 3 months ago?.
I would choose to pair with the parcel purchased 16months ago so that I can utilise the 50% CGT discount.
