They should have had the guts to cut the final dividend.
They need to make hard nosed business decisions, not some misguided paternalism.
They could have saved themselves $600 million if they had cut 5c off the div.
I doubt the share price would have fallen any further. In fact they would probably have got brownie points for biting the bullet.
