And as a local born...can say...we're a drop in the bucket and we can wait our turn...or use the net! No doubt when Amazon hits retail in Oz will pay attention...they'll have to pick up their game or perish.
Not that I agree or cherish the thought. The fact that these multinationals are allowed to operate in Australia without protectionist policies in place is going to ruin this country...more. There is no political will to stop the onslaught (theyre just corporate lackies) and we...the cattle ...just graze on the ever diminishing pasture whilst they milk us harder every day. The big boys though...no probs...set up a Panama PO Box and pay tax ...what tax? Or better yet set one up on the Bahamas under your dad's trust...hmmm...who was it that did that...oh yeah...that's right..is he still PM? Sigggh!
Anyway sure Oz won't be forgotten...even if not just as a humanitarian aid kind of thing!
