Bornite, I don't really think either Rudd or Abbott getting in has anything to do with Rex's fortunes. I doubt mining tax will be payable by Rex given iron ore isn't the major component.

A few people on Hotcopper seem to be getting caught up in the spin of the election campaign. The country won't change on September 15. Just like all the people who thought America would change with Obama in 2009.

The state government is the one that needs to be on side in terms of approvals etc and they seem keen to help Rex and encourage other mining/gas investment in SA. The SA Liberals presumably also share that view. South Australia is consistently regarded as one of the most stable mining jurisdictions in the entire world.
