i doubt thats it. Would you leave if you pulled a 400k salary for doing a few hours work a month, having noone to answer to, and still holding a ticket in a lottery based on someone else being supremely competent (ting).
DM is in what you call a win win situation. Its literally all upside.
He plods about doing sweet FA, takes some junkets at our expense, releases sweet FA and when he does gets it wrong, insults shareholders year after year.....and we pay him a huge amount for the privilege.
Thinking he's hanging around for the tech is hopium. He's hanging around because it pays well and he has to deliver bugger all...allowing him to put his efforts elsewhere.
