For STX to have a problem the Cooper Creek and thus Strezlecki Creek needs to flood and that will take a lot of water from up north. The degree of flooding (or not) will depend upon how long Debbie stays over the catchment area (ie Torrens, Thompson & Barcoo rivers) and what she dumps while she is there - who knows??? A lot also depends on whether these rivers were dry or full before this event.

I'm the first to admit this is all guess work and may amount to nothing. Using logic, I figure that STX will make an announcement if they are going to have a serious problem....

Thanks for your detail HC.

I agree with your comments. I am amazed how long Debbie is hanging around where she is and how much rain they are continuing to receive in that area. I guess that while she is near enough to the coast she will continue to draw in moisture.
