I thought they want to have one Telstra Group Ltd owning everything in the group. If I get it right, I think they want to identify and isolate their assets, to be owned by various entities so they can sell or sell part of those assets, like they did with the towers. Perhaps the tower deal made them aware that the current structure does not make this type of deals easy.
