I have a theory that when the forums are filled with low quality posts then the trade is overly crowded with weak hands. Stocks that experience explosive moves attract uniformed retail looking to make a quick buck. When the stock consolidates or distributes they then tend to get emotionally volatile and blame 'the shorters' or 'the brokers' or some other market component. Accepting a mistake was made or that the initial thesis has been proven wrong is difficult so they lash out where they can.
Just a thought.
