That is one way to spin it.
If you look at history a lot of change has been instigated by a minority group. Examples such as the Indian Independence Movement, the American Civil Rights Movement, etc. It does not necessarily need to be worn with the negative paint you brush it with. Because the comparison you use is completely unfair if you look at the reasoning provided by the activists.
Change does tend to start out small. Now people are listening (FIRST STRIKE).
If it gains traction and validates the concerns, we will see who is vindicated in the end.
