The goldfields offer is extremely generous.What assets does GOR have.it has 50% of one mine which produces about 160,000 ounces of gold or so for GOR.it has the investment in DEG which has turned out well for them.GOR doesnt have much else .It has no operator experience .For that GOR is valued at 3 Billion AU or more.Compare it to some Canadian gold miners which are much cheaper ,for example New gold which has two gold mines which are performing well producing 2-3 times as much gold as GOR ,good management and cheaper than GOR.For some reason Aussie gold miners seem way overvalued compared to comparable Candian miners ,dont know why.All cash offer seems very generous in contrast to the takeover of Deg by Northern star which is a paper offer. It is not an opportunistic offer by goldfields ,it is a good all cash offer and should be accepted .As far as I know Goldfields is a very good well operated company .I have owned it on and off .GOR after all invited Goldfields to build and operate the gruyere mine .Presumably they didnt feel that they (gor management) could build the mine and must have felt Goldfields knew what they are doing .Gruyere has had its issues .some related to its road and weather conditions ,some related to equipment which operatE in a harsh environment.
