Biggest disappointment imo the CF33 results so far. When watching the videos from 2019-2024 it was always hailed and praised like a Miracle-Technology. Looking at the results at this stage, far from what was expected.
2 Bile Duct and 2 Melanoma patients with some improvement, what about Breast, Lung and other organ cancers? "60 lines of cancers killed in pre-clinicals" - too good to be true!!!!!!! And as long as the Bile Duct ph 1b hasn't confirmed the 2 ph1a results, those can't be taken seriously either.
The letter, unfortunately, confirms what seems to be the obvious reason for big pharma staying away from IMU: No negative results but definitely not good enough to warrant any deal.
Highly likely another disappointment, when Azer-Cel gets its registration, the oncology sector has moved on and away from CAR-Ts.
What's left is the slim hope that even when CF33 can't kill as wanted, it will mark cancer cells with CD19 and if CAR-Ts are still around or cheaper than today that onCARlytics might save the company. But that would be in the early 2030s if all goes to plan.
Azer-Cel was and is a big failure as an investment. They really should have concentrated on CF33 and B-Cell and used someone else's CD19 CAR-T for onCARlytics if CF33 would do the job. But they wanted all at once and now holders have to pay for that strategic mistake. Bitten off more than they can chew - financial pain instead of gain.
