yes they state "We remind you that none of our trials have failed."
The issue seems to be not that there have been failed trials, but rather when things don't go to plan (whether through recrutiment is slow, not enough money, whatever), it all goes quiet and focused shifted elsewhere and then we find out what has happened with a particular trial (12 months later) and it is too late.
Examples
2018 - B Cell - expect to hear in next 12 months on deal - 12 months alter nothing. Move onto next thing
2021 - HerVaxx - going into a phase 2 - expecting results, then it goes quiet for a year - then we find out it has been deprioritised - 7 patients were recruited in Phase 2. Move onto next thing
2021 - pd1 Vaxx - over two years - 10 patients recruited - this is quietly dropped. Move onto next thing.
2022 - Checkvacc - 9 patients recruited in total. Move onto next thing.
2023 - CF33/Oncarlytics - Now we find out in this letter about 12 months after (even longer) the trials started "Slow news on CF33 and OnCARlytics programs – it is correct that data read outs are a little slower than expected". Move onto next thing. Well not quite moving on yet - but focus is definately on...
Now - Azer Cell.
The thing is, yeah there has been no failures on trials, (how can there be failures when we haven't collected enough data to cut a phase 2?) they just haven't progressed trials. If Azer cel - is a success great! But if it is not, the issue is we won't hear about it, until it is too late, way too late.
