re: Ann: LGL rejects acquisition proposal fro... tammyc; Agree, I think an offer above $4.00 is inevitable for them to win over the board, but NCM has to also consider how much they are willing to spend for LGL and if it's good value for their own share holders. Would this dilute the shares of Newcrest?
Also, there was earlier rumours of Newmont making an offer, so it's possible now that Newcrest has entered and officially made an offer that others may feel compelled to do so as well. We'll see what Newcrest has to say in their next statement to the market. Odds are they will make a counter-offer and have to offer a premium to the closing price, obviously the market is already factoring this into the price of LGL right now, wouldn't be surprised to see a spike to $4.20 by next week.
