    Not sure about that. Monash has a good PR machine and you can find them promoting their work everywhere you look. The toffee results need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

    What I have learnt about Lithium Sulphur batteries (in particular) from the material available on the web is that the results of testing can be very sensitive to a number of parameters (the five 5's - see Post #: 55980884), and whether it's a pouch cell or coin cell, and you can get what appear, at least on the surface, to be impressive results if you have certain ratios. An example of this is using excess electrolyte and low sulphur content making E/S high, say 15uL/g, but it's not going to be a cell that is going to be commercially viable.

    Deakin has been very shy about revealing details of their work in the last 12 months or so and I take that to suggest they have made some breakthroughs in the capability of their pouch cells that they want to keep under wraps and are not focussed on getting research grants, they want to be a commercial success.

    Just an opinion.
