It appears that Sodium iron batteries will have their place as a cheap but lower power density battery mainly for things like storage and low end EV's or in mixed battety pack but will never pack the punch that sulpher is able to achieve. It will have a lower energy density than LFP which in turn will max out at half of what Li-S tech can already achieve. So no, IMHO sodium batteries will never be a threat to Li-S tech, only to LFP and ternary batteries and their variants for certain low end applications where realatively low energy density per kW is not so important. Bear in mind that sulpher, like sodium, is a cheap commodity and even though it still needs some lithium content it turbocharges the power output per kg without the need exotic additives. People want electric aircraft and cars with a range approaching a 1000km etc which means lighter weight combined with higher output and Li-S delivers
