BSM, You reminded me of my wifes experience at the podiatrist recently. She had an ingrown toe nail and she described the procedure to remove part of the nail as "pain was worse than child birth". My wife is a strong and capable person and her description of the pain surprised me. She was not offered any pain relief but clearly the podiatrist should be offering some pain relief.
