The proof of cocept in hardware was milestone2 a few years back. The functioning kernel is with 3rd parties already so through only thing that will prevent it from working will be poor quality craftsmanship and defects in the manufacturing process. The fpga will let us sort any underlying issues.
We are all set, just need to hit print .
