The main issue in relation to the last post / question is the difference between "price sensitive information" and a price sensitive ASX announcement.
A Director may be aware of price sensitive information well before an ASX release is made. The timing difference here usually relates to incomplete transactions and confidentiality.
Trading Policies preclude Directors from trading whilst in posession of price sensitive information, which could be weeks ahead of an ASX release.
In broad terms, an ASX release must be made when the PS information is no longer confidential, the terms of a transaction are complete, assay results are received, etc, etc.
