It seems like everyone here is discussing the hedging as if that is the big piece of news here. I’d argue it isn’t, its unchanged and not what this is about.
- turnaround times at offline mines (negative, production downtime)
- depreciation calculations (positive, lowers the tax bill allowing bigger dividends and cash reserves)
- hedging losses (already know, nothing new here, but yes negative)
- reconfirmed 2023 production guidance 180-190 (positive, unchanged)
I think the fact the share price swung wildly yesterday indicates the market is having trouble working out if the ann was positive or negative.
i actually think its a positive announcement, and the market just hasn’t caught on. Strong buy from me.
