Human nature of the west is such that it hopes against all logic, in the face of adversity to HELP wherever and whenever it can, something the disrupters love to exploit.
The altruism in some is so strong that it blinds them to the hidden agenda of those feigning the search for enlightenment.
There is only one goal: disruption.
The objective(s) may be to sabotage competition, cause support to collapse through FUD, which in many cases enables a white knight who may have been the main perpetrator all along, to come the rescue to save the enterprise, buying the company or ending controlling the board.
Of course, there are the complete nut cases who just thrive on chaos sans any apparent motive, but their play is evident early on.
