Sport, you are wrong. I worked in company law from 1974, and an incorporation date remains fixed no matter what name the company goes by / changes to. A company is a legal entity in its own right from incorporation; just as a person who changes his/her name is not a new person, and retains the same birth date. Common sense really. For some.
