To be clear I'm a LT holder of AGY, think it's a great buy right now (I'm not in a position to be averaging up or I would be, so no reason for me to downramp in any way).

Simply stating how I felt reading that line being tacked onto the end of an announcement about the ponds and brine. It wasn't on the previous two announcements and thus it particularly stood out to me reading it, when I read the announcement this morning my reaction was plain and simple, the market isn't going to like this one because of that line, the rest of it is overwhelmingly positive but that paragraph quite simply is not and it's incredibly random to tack it onto this announcement, imo.

Looking back I see that it is just a copy and paste job from the announcements that were about the MOU, but it certainly spooked me a bit reading it because as we know around here, our CEO is very concise in choosing his words. That comment doesn't draw a second thought from me on an announcement regarding the MOU as then it's just legal talk but to copy and paste it onto this announcement just stood out.

My position hasn't changed on AGY or the story and I didn't even think about selling as I'm in this one long term but just clarifying my comment as it's not a downramp attempt at all, just how I felt reading the announcement.


I'm also not trying to take away from the rest of the announcement as it's very positive, heck even reading that comment it didn't change my LT hold position or trigger any thoughts of selling as while the Chinese backing will accelerate and likely assist this one I think they've shown enough to back them to do it alone if necessary.

Given it was the only negative line in the entire announcement and the market reaction it would seem I'm not the only one to at least notice it. As I said in my post, there is clear TA explanations for today's activity as well and I'm perfectly happy for that to be the sole reason for the little dip!

Here's to hoping it's just a disclaimer and nothing of note and that we get an announcement of a binding agreement in the very near future. Onwards and upwards to all holders.
