Can you list even 10 lithium mines that have gone into production this year? According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Earth plays host to some 88 million tonnes of lithium. Its a large amount but only one-quarter of it is economically viable to mine. These economical discoveries are known as “reserves”.

On top of all the cars a growing proportion of urban passenger transport such as buses are battery powered. According to a report by ReportLinker, the average cost of lithium-ion battery packs for large bus orders fell from around $600 a kilowatt hour in 2015 to $150 a kilowatt hour in 2020.

Wright Electric is working on a 100-seat fully-electric regional jet planned for take-off in 2026. The Wright Spirit is a conversion of the BAe 146 regional jet, destined for one-hour flights.
