I thought the same when I read the announcement. Positive news in that they have recovered Li and are now looking at formulating lithium-ferro-phosphate cathode powders. BUT - no mention of yields or recovery of other metals with minimal qualitative data. So no idea if this is a viable process from the details given. I'm also guessing this is lab scale stuff, so don't know if the process is scalable.
