In recent years due to high CO2 emmissions consumers are seeking for low Carbon products. The Horizontal Pidgeon process which is the dominating extraction process generates high Carbon footprint. In recent years R&D works matured Vertical pidgeon process which enables more automatization, less down time and consequently increased fuel efficiency. But, The institutes in PRC are working on more advanced processes. One of them is the Al thermic process which already matured and applied on some ongoing projects. This presentation will explain the new Al thermic proces at Mg extraction.
