Hi all, disclaimer: I am electrical engineer so limited understanding of gas, but some I have learnt and some I do know from friends in chevron and cs (fifos on ridiculous money) and others in WA.
The pipeline between west and east unfortunately ain't going to happen for a long time. The cost is unbelievable in terms of construction let alone maintenance.
The result is transport via road and sea.
This seems counterintuitive comparatively, but gives u an idea of how much the pipe would cost.
If the resources in the west were to be properly utilized all over, govt investment would be required which ain't going to happen while the coal barrow is being ever shoved up hill.
I thought some sort of link was 'in the pipeline ' at Moomba. Not sure what happened there.
Bit of foresight by govts could see a larger push in the gas area over the next few years for the good of private, public and govt.
