Yeah, nuclear isn't viable in Oz. The smart play would be to go as renewable as possible with storage options plus gas and keep the existing coal online (but no new coal plants). Australia has a huge opportunity with renewables which is just being wasted.
I am an environmentalist but also a capitalist - we can do both! For any fossil fuel usage, just pick the less bad option. Gas is the least bad of all the fossil fuels.
Also, other countries can use our nuclear fuel of course (after paying for it...)
Oh, and another controversial view I hold is that we should store nuclear waste in the outback - the greenies hate that but its the most globally environmentally responsible thing to do (and we can make money at the same time).
Sorry for the rant - MIN is great and I'm changing my sentiment to Strong Hold from Buy.
