This is an excellent outcome. It removes a great deal of uncertainty over the viability of LD-1. It does not need to be re-drilled or sidetracked, let alone abandoned.

To mill out 1.8km of cement... they have done a great job. FWIW I suspect our spy site visit and pics yesterday have prompted NWE to release this update. Others have noted the truck and wireline from the pic courtesy of Pottermore, that is likely the logging crew for the cement bond log. We should know soon how much cement has entered the annulus, it may be a better outcome than others have supposed. If any further remedy is required, they have techniques for that.

Clearly NWE are pushing on towards formal completion and flow testing.
