this is just a F up from cementing guys. remediation is possible because most of the cement was inside the casing. it's a new hole so they should be able to circulate cement higher up ( above top of contaminated cement in the annulus) as long as they are not obliged to provide good isolation below.
if they have to isolate below the top of contaminated cement then we are is shits as that part of remediation can be tricky. again they have provided very little information so hopefully they work it out
