This is the fun bit about HC and the NWE thread @seahunt! Did you account for the displacement of the 5 - 1/2" pipe from the 8-1/2" cut? It's the differential (space between the two that I worked off.
I had my back of envelopes at:
5-1/2" = 0.01532 m2 surface area
8-1/2" = 0.03659 m2 surface area
differential = 0.02127 m2
Successful push = 2420m = 37.07m3 or 233.2 bbl
50m annulus pit = 1.83m3
remaining squeeze up the 8-1/2" tube annulus = 35.24m3/0.02127m2 = 1656m
distance covered = 4200m - 50m - 1656m = 2494m
Obviously this intersects with the 9-5/8" section so I stopped calculating at this point. IMO there is surplus cement in well to cover guage expansion in the cut, the issue for me is the bonding to the casing with the significant gas pressures encountered and the vibration from the milling process, hence my thoughts on a micro annulus squeeze.
Happy for others to contribute/clarify?
