I don’t know any cat stewpid enough to sit around in a steel chamber all day with a hammer, a vial of hydrocyanic acid and a radioactive substance waiting to see if anyone would bother checking on whether it was dead or alive before a radioactive atom happened to decay, tripping the mechanism, breaking open the vial and gassing poor moggy, but O&G wells are like Schrödinger’s Cat - simultaneously a duster and a gusher until you look. Personally, my own thought experiment would have used the dopiest St Bernard I could find and promise him a bone.
