Its kind of obvious the strategy - and the granted ROFR on the RAF DEEP farm-out is the clue
ROFR could work two ways - eg nobody bids as wouldnt win anyway or huge deal to blow them away.
Ideal is two deals - one for RAF and one for regional exploration (seismic and wells)
Primary strategy is for Sabre to confirm the basin as significant O&G play and then BPT moves to acquire maximum equity once mega resource potential is confirmed.
So see Sabre as test case - eg grab shallow oil rights, then participate in / fund deep gas and deep gas exploration - prove the concept and grab 50% of play.
BPT only gets involved after RAF appraisal and swoops to clean up the other 50% >> minorities eg the whiners
Not a terrible outcome if we get 2H shares prior and the bid ratio is good (eg at least 1:1).
Tom installed as MD/CEO of new company called…. SUBARU
Question is will other players sit idly by, while ACE/SABRE/BPT clean up???
