Not quite. That episode is about LAC, yes, but at that moment they were talking about Ganfeng and their experience. They also didn't mention Lepidico, they mentioned lepidolite. Ganfeng have experience in converting lepidolite into lithium carbonate.

So they're not talking about LPD, and I very much doubt anything is happening with LAC.

As a side note, the old way of converting lepidolite is very energy intensive and expensive to do. That's why Desert Lion's Karibib operations shut down; the converters couldn't make money once the Chinese spot price dropped from seriously high levels.

L-Max doesn't have the roasting involved, which helps keep costs down.
