Winmar Resources Ltd (Winmar) (ASX: WFE) is pleased to announce that the government mining authority of Andalucia has yesterday approved the company’s work plan for the Lomero project and confirmed that the application for drilling will be approved shortly, in time for drilling to start in January. Managing Director Rod Sainty met with the head of the mining authority and his senior technical staff in Huelva yesterday. The authority approved the first year work plan for Lomero and then reviewed the drill application documents package, submitted last Monday, and found it to be satisfactory. The authority indicated that its approval of the drill application will be completed in a few days, while the review by the environmental authority will take approximately two weeks. The government review and approval process is the final step ahead of Winmar’s drilling programme at the Lomero gold-silver-copper-zinc deposit in southern Spain. A drill access agreement with the landowner, forestry company Silvasur Agroforestal SAU, a subsidiary of leading Spanish forestry, cellulose and energy company Ence, was finalised Tuesday. Further updates will follow as events unfold.
