Perhaps todays bath has a bit more to do with than just the States, perhaps you need to take a few more things into "consideration" for todays market movements, I'll give you a few from yesterday and last night:-
China production down 17%
USA oil reserves up more than expected
Germany growth down 0.1%
Hong Kong , one of the worlds biggest stock markets, in turmoil with a possibility of Chinese military intervention
Argentina looking at going broke again
Telstra and a few others blue chips profit anns down on expectations.

Theres a few for ya, not just the good ol USA dragging this down.
