Exactly what I thought. Code rots if you don't have the right people on it. Since Loyyal has turned over its entire workforce (multiple times) and some of the bigger names (Shannon Code, for example) are no longer associated with it, the work that's been done on the Loyyal code base is likely of a shallow nature (just duct tape it together until the demo works). You can make the argument that a good engineering team could pick up Loyyal's code base and fix it, but that same engineering team could pick up a mainstream open source project (Hyperledger, Corda, Enterprise Ethereum) and adapt it to their needs.

If Loyyal's code had the kind of adoption story (e.g. Corda with "HSBC, SEB, Bangkok Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and BBVA") of any one of the bigger open source projects we wouldn't be having this conversation at 0.2c.
