You'd reckon perhaps they were a little concerned about the ex LPE director that is starting his own embedded network company with a guy with rather deep pockets? Getting through the conversions of the UC customers so they can sign up more customers and decrease that waiting time would surely be a wise move in order to keep the first mover advantage? LPE did seem to ramp up their need for cash and an increased conversion rate after the AER submission from ultium, imo.
