Yes, allowed to sell but always received a "nice" email reply saying will be banned from future IPOs if you sell. At least that was every time with the last company he was involved in.
He also sent those "nice" emails to you when you were a pre-IPO holder and wanted to sell. What a nice email to get as a holder of stock from pre-IPO stages too.
